Welp, after a grueling month and a half of editing, my book MEMOIRS OF A HOUSEHOLD DEMON is finally ready to go under the knife of a professional editor. I'm interested to see how polished we can get the finished product. In the meantime, I'll be starting work on my newest short story: "Someboty". It's no secret that I've always been a huge fan of science fiction, especially when it comes to robotics and artificial intelligence. Oftentimes we see the many ways in which AI can be potentially dangerous, and in some cases, even apocalyptic (I'm looking at you Skynet/Terminators). Instead, I wanted to explore the idea of the polar opposite. What happens when a machine is capable of empathy and compassion that even humanity fails to achieve? If such a thing were possible, would we embrace it, or would we shun what we can't comprehend?   Seeking to expand my repertoire, I've decided to release an anthology of short stories, starting with one set in the same universe as my novel Prodigal Seed— Eyes of the Moon!  Taking place on the planet Daedramir, the tale follows a pair of siblings, Acer and Dreel.   As they prepare for the annual Lunar Festival, a lack of holiday spirit soon throws the two into a struggle for survival, demonstrating that the wisdom of the ancients was never meant to be forgotten.   If you'd like to give it a read, please click the link below or check out the newly added "Short Stories" tab at the top of the page. The universe is an incredible place.  The sheer vastness and mystery of it has inspired wonder, dread and exploration since the first human eyes looked up at the stars.  New images from NASA’s Webb Telescope allow us to peer through time and space, displaying the vibrance of swirling galaxies and glittering nebulas whose light is only now reaching us from billions of years ago.  It should come as no surprise that so much of the science fiction genre stems from the outlandish and alien frontiers that lie waiting to be discovered by both intergalactic travelers and those of us that read about them in our favorite stories.  If there’s other intelligent life out there, what would it look like?  Would it look like us?  Act like us?  Would that be a good thing?  These are some of the key questions that my novel, Prodigal Seed: Indigo 03, seeks to explore.           When it comes to fiction, be it fantasy, sci-fi, or anything in between, the eternal question of both writer and reader is always the same: What kind of a world would I want to get pulled into?  More often than not, I think we could all agree that the answer would be anything besides the one that we’re already in, am I right?  Why else would we delve into the realms of the gritty and fanciful, losing ourselves to the striking down of dragons and demons, imagining ourselves as a pilot in an epic space battle?  In one way or another, our minds are always on the hunt for a worthwhile adventure, hoping that at least some small portion of that awesomeness can translate over to our otherwise mundane everyday lives.  We hunger for conflict, not necessarily in our own affairs, but in the dealings of others, subconsciously learning from their struggles and mistakes so that we can know how to conquer them for ourselves should the need ev...
