Delving into Artificial Intelligence

Welp, after a grueling month and a half of editing, my book MEMOIRS OF A HOUSEHOLD DEMON is finally ready to go under the knife of a professional editor. I'm interested to see how polished we can get the finished product. In the meantime, I'll be starting work on my newest short story: "Someboty". It's no secret that I've always been a huge fan of science fiction, especially when it comes to robotics and artificial intelligence. Oftentimes we see the many ways in which AI can be potentially dangerous, and in some cases, even apocalyptic (I'm looking at you Skynet/Terminators). Instead, I wanted to explore the idea of the polar opposite. What happens when a machine is capable of empathy and compassion that even humanity fails to achieve? If such a thing were possible, would we embrace it, or would we shun what we can't comprehend? The story itself will be set in the same universe as PRODIGAL SEED: INDIGO 03, taking place about 45 years beforehand.  Its ...
